The field of activity of textile cleaners includes the treatment, care and finishing of textiles and garments, in particular by cleaning, washing, stain removal, and finishing. Textile cleaners work predominantly in cleaning or laundry firms which treat e.g. work clothes, hospital and hotel laundry, outer clothing, domestic textiles, fur and leather. They also work in research institutions in the chemical industry, health facilities and hotels.
Textile cleaners process customer orders independently and make decisions on the laundering or cleaning procedure to be used to process the treatment goods. In doing this, dealing with customers, the environmentally conscious use of chemicals and ancillary materials as well as safety and health protection at work are central.
