Occupational skills
Technical product designers:
- plan and produce visual drawings using 3D/CAD software programs
- use construction, design, configuration and customer specifications and from these, produce 3D/CAD data records and technical documentation
- evaluate production, assembly and joining procedures and incorporate these results into the forming, design and construction process
- produce technical support documentation and make calculations for their specialist field
- differentiate between materials and auxiliary materials and use material standards specific to their sector
- apply the company-specific simulation procedures, while examining the behaviour of components and subassemblies
- produce and present technical documentation, products, goods and services with the help of 3D/CAD software programs, using the latest communications, graphics and picture editing programs
- conduct searches in databases and data networks, taking into account the regulations regarding data protection, structure and record data and facts, and administer, secure and manage files
- assist in informing, advising and supporting customers
- plan, organise and coordinate sequences of operations and construction and design processes
- apply quality assurance measures and monitor and evaluate work results
- work in a team, process and project-oriented manner, and apply methods for planning, implementing and monitoring projects
- use basic cost calculation and process calculation principles, produce invoices for work orders and conduct performance reviews
- use English language documentation, and correspond and communicate with customers in English.
