Stonemasons and sculptors design, make, install and restore structural components, facings, floor coverings, stairs, facades and historical monuments made of natural stone and other materials. They work in workshops and carry out their work inside and outside buildings and other objects.

Stonemasons and sculptors carry out their work independently and in a customer-oriented manner on the basis of technical documents and work orders, both alone and as part of a team and in cooperation with other trades. They plan and coordinate their work, set up workplaces, erect scaffolding and take measures to ensure safety and health protection at work as well as environmental protection. They check their work for faults, document their work, carry out quality assurance measures and calculate the amount of work performed. - design and make forms and models,
- design and produce script, reliefs and sculptures,
- repair and restore sculptural works.
