Mechanics for agricultural and construction machinery technology carry out their work independently and as part of a team, taking account of environmental protection, occupational health and safety and quality assurance, and in a customer-oriented manner. They also procure information on the deployment, equipping, repair and maintenance of machines, and plan, evaluate and document their work. They identify and eliminate faults and malfunctions in mechanical, electronic, mechatronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Mechanics for agricultural and construction machinery technology:
- plan and monitor operational procedures and evaluate results,
- service, test, install and repair vehicles, machines, plant and equipment,
- manually and mechanically adjust and assemble workpieces and components,
- diagnose faults and malfunctions and their causes in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems,
- communicate with internal and external customers in a manner appropriate to the situation,
- commission and operate vehicles and their associated systems,
- apply quality assurance measures,
- test exhaust emissions and emissions reduction equipment,
- construct and test electrical power supply points.
