DESCRIPTION: Reads and analyzes blueprints for landscape projects and surveys landscape sites, prepares terrain for planting, using handtools and power-operated equipment. Masters soil contour and grading techniques to provide a proper landscape setting. Identifies standard irrigation systems to provide proper coverage and water conservation. Identifies and installs plant material in landscape projects. Uses acceptable landscape horticultural practices and procedures to develop and maintain the landscape site. Lies out and installs fences, stairs, trellises and decks; installs and repairs concrete and asphalt walks and driveways; uses bricks, stone and blocks for landscape purposes. Seeds and sods lawns, mulches, fertilizes, prunes, applies herbicides, fungicides and insecticides necessary to manage the landscape environment.
