Hydraulic technicians:
- build, inspect and maintain structures in and alongside lakes, rivers and canals,
- construct, inspect and maintain waterfront protection and maintenance paths,
- carry out measures for the management and development of lakes and rivers,
- make, inspect and maintain structures for coastal and island protection,
- carry out construction monitoring tasks,
- carry out measures for the maintenance and inspection of lake, river and canal beds, and mark and secure shipping channels and fairways,
- take hydrographic measurements,
- carry out flood protection and flood and ice defence measures,
- drive floating vehicles and service floating equipment,
- operate and maintain dams, reservoirs and retention basins,
- measure dimensions and draw up documents,
- erect and dismantle scaffolding, utilise and maintain transport equipment,
- plan, prepare and manage operational processes, and coordinate them with other trades,
- work as part of a team,
- conduct talks with contracting companies,
- check their work to ensure that no errors have been made, document it, and carry out quality assurance measures,
- record the quantity of materials used and the time spent, and calculate the services rendered,
- take measures to promote safety and health at work, as well as to protect the environment.
