Field of Activity
The field of activity of a housekeeper covers providing domestic care and support for persons in private households, social institutions, farm households and service enterprises.
Housekeepers are qualified, through their initial vocational training, to carry out the following tasks autonomously and in a manner which is specific to their client’s individual needs; in so doing they take due account of considerations relating to work organization, environmental protection, hygiene, health and safety at work, and the economic and social context; they are also qualified to carry out quality assurance measures:
Occupational Skills
- provision of domestic care services such as preparing and serving meals, cleaning and care of rooms, designing of rooms and the home environment, cleaning and care of fabrics, keeping and managing provisions and stocks,
- provision of support services such as motivating persons at different life stages and in different life situations and keeping them occupied, and also provision of help in executing daily activities,
- marketing domestic products and services.
