The work of forest managers covers the conservation, management and protection of forests and their sustainable and managed exploitation.
Occupational Skills
As a result of their vocational training, forest managers are qualified to carry out the activities listed below in a self-reliant manner and in compliance with the principles of nature and environmental conservation, health and safety and workplace ergonomics:
- establish, protect and manage forest stands;
- conserve, protect and develop particular habitats;
- lay out and manage sanctuary facilities;
- harvest, measure and grade timber;
- transport and store timber;
- use, maintain and service machinery and equipment;
- plan, prepare and monitor work carried out.
