Summary
Performs electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure. Demonstrate knowledge and skills for qualifying as Journeyman. Applicable Job Qualification Requirements will be used as a guide in performing tasks and demonstrating knowledge in the following areas. Actual work time must be recorded in the Work Experience Log.

Locate and identify proper dimensions and tolerances of a part or component based on the equipment specifications used by the industry standards.
Test Equipment Operation
Take measurements using standard measuring instruments such as; multimeters, oscilloscopes, meggers, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters and generators, ammeters and resistance bridges. Perform general care and maintenance of inspection equipment.
Complex Measuring Divices
Set up and operate measuring equipment for the taking of more difficult measurements such as; X-Y Chart recorders, concentricity measurements, datum locations, angularity, etc.
Calibration
Identify tolerances to be used for the calibration of inspection equipment. Calibrate test equipment such as; multimeters.
Non-Destructive Testing
Principles and methods of inspection as required under MIL-1-45208, MIL-Q-9858, and MIL-STD-105 and other standards as apply to the production process.
Recording and Evaluation of Test Data
Prepare written summaries to validate data. Maintain records on calibration, maintenance, and repair of measuring equipment.
