Electronics technicians for devices and systems produce, put into operation and maintain components and devices.
Typical fields of activity are information and communications technology devices, medical devices, automotive systems, systems components, sensors, actuators, microsystems, EMS (electronic manufacturing services), measurement and testing technology.
Electronics technicians for devices and systems work independently, observe the relevant regulations and safety rules and coordinate their work with the preceding and following activities. They often work as part of a team. They are qualified electricians within the meaning of the regulations for the prevention of accidents.
Occupational Skills
Electronics technicians for devices and systems:
- support developers in the realization of contracts, the analysis of required functionality and ambient technical conditions as well as the design of circuits;
- produce models and one-off products;
- select, adapt and assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components to produce devices and systems; install and configure programs; test devices and systems;
- prepare device and system documentation;
- make layouts and prepare documents;
- award and coordinate contracts for the procurement of components, ancillary materials and special tools for the realization of internal and external customer contracts;
- plan and control production processes, organize group work;
- set up, program, optimize and maintain production machines and test equipment;
- cooperate in the analysis and optimization of production processes;
- test and repair components and devices;
- also work with English-language documents and communicate in English.
