Summary
Construct, erect, install, and repair structures. Perform interior finish work, including installing sheetrock, paneling or ceramic tile, ceiling and floor tile, millwork and trim. Build forms for concrete construction. Build wharves, bridges and other heavy timber structures. Interpret blueprints and building plans and prepare sketches for construction work. Prepare estimates of materials and labor.

Foundations, Walls and Floors
Layout and level forms. Build and place straight and irregular concrete forms. Line up and brace concrete walls and columns. Layout building lines and footings. Build and place concrete forms for stairways, floors, walls, columns, and overhead applications such as roofs and ceilings.
Framing (Foundations and Walls)
Layout and frame sills and girders. Frame and set floor joists. Erect framework for structures and lay sub flooring. Layout and build walls and partitions. Build scaffolding. Install sheathing and plaster grounds.
Outside Finishing and Millwork
Apply building paper, cornices and wall coverings. Layout, construct and set louvers. Set door and window frames. Apply outside wall coverings; hardboard, vinyl, and metal sidings, trimming fixtures, roof coverings, etc. Apply hardware and fittings to exterior of buildings, doors, and windows.
Inside Finishing
Fit and install pre-fabricated window frames. Apply door and window trim. Fit and sand doors and windows. Install baseboards and moldings. Apply and finish drywall, install suspended and drywall ceilings. Construct and set cases, wardrobes, and stair work. Cover subfloor with building paper and lay floors such as hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block flooring. Apply hardware and fittings to interior of buildings, doors, and windows.
Roofing
Frame and set common, valley, hip and jack rafters. Apply sheathing, asphalt shingles and other types of roof coverings.
Layout
Prepare layouts for batter boards, partitions, doors and windows; box-out in concrete walls.
Tools and Woodworking Machinery
Care and use of job related tools, materials, and equipment.
Safety
Conform to prescribed safety standards.
Planning and Estimating
Plan construction job phases, read and interpret plans and specifications, estimate material usage and cost.
