Bank clerks work in all fields of business engaged in by lending institutions. Their duties involve acquiring new customers, providing counselling and other services to existing customers and selling banking services, particularly standardized services and products. Typical fields of activity are account management, payment transactions, financial and asset investment and lending business. Other fields of activity, mostly requiring specialization, include controlling, organization and data processing, personnel management, internal auditing and marketing.
