Summary
Inspects, maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft ground equipment, such as motor generator sets, air compressors, and test stands: Conducts periodic and special inspections, using test equipment, to detect malfunctions. Tests and operates equipment for output, leakage, and operation in accordance with technical publications. Disassembles and assembles malfunctioning accessories and components, such as motor and engine driven generator sets, air compressors, hydraulic-pneumatic sets, air-conditioners, heaters, exhaust and cooling equipment, and test stands. Replaces worn bearings, bushings, shafts, end plates, brushes, springs, coils, armatures, pushrods, valves, exhaust manifolds, tubing, hoses, and defective wiring. Repairs, adjusts, and operates gas turbine engines.

General Administration
Maintain logs, records, and files. Prepare reports.
Technical Administration
Comply with Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Reporting Program (NAMDRP). Perform trend analysis on support equipment. Use charts, diagrams, schematics, and maintenance and service instructions. Complete Maintenance Data System (MDS) forms. Complete support equipment forms (transaction documents). Complete Planned Maintenance System (PMS) feedback reports. Research parts information. Submit requests for manufacturer of materials and equipment. Prepare planned maintenance schedules. Maintain Visual Information Display System (VIDS).
Logistics
Requisition components for mechanical and hydraulic support equipment. Order supplies and equipment. Inventory material and equipment. Review and submit changes to Individual Component Repair List (ICRL). Turn in and pick up repair parts, tools, and supplies. Complete individual documents. Maintain aeronautical allowance lists.
Safety
Conform to prescribed safety practices.
Corrosion Control and Material Preservation
Detect and treat corrosion. Preserve and de-preserve support equipment. Comply with corrosion control program.
Quality Assurance
Comply with tool control program. Perform support equipment load test. Perform scheduled maintenance inspections. Perform and interpret dye penetrant inspections. Inspect and test lifting and hoisting equipment. Conduct quality assurance inspections. Screen defective components. Comply with Foreign Object Damage (FOD) program. Comply with hydraulic fluid contamination control.
Mechanical Maintenance
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair support equipment engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, gas turbine enclosures, brake systems, wheel assemblies and tires, transmission systems, suspension and steering systems, hoisting and lifting devices, fire-fighting units, equipment differentials, chassis and frames, carburization and emissions control systems, electrical systems, engine tune-ups, power generating equipment, hydraulic pressure generating, hydrostatic and hydraulic test stand systems, cryogenic systems, air-conditioning systems, and refrigeration systems.
