- AAI Sector Specific Calls:
- Throughout June, AAI Grantees are invited to join in four peer discussions focused on sector-specific needs, challenges, and solutions. Please register for and join as many calls as you have interest. These discussions will offer grantees working in similar industries to learn from each other about how they are adjusting in response to current events. The goal is that these conversations will ultimately lead to more productive and informed conversations with employers and improve outcomes for apprentices.

- This Closeout presentation will review the reason and framework under which the closeout process has been established. It will identify the different elements of a closeout package and the closeout process timeline for submission. Lastly, we will highlight several areas that may impact an organization’s ability to successfully navigate the closeout process.

- New Cyber Defense Apprenticeship will Provide Certificate, Degree and Scholarships to Motlow State Students to Prepare Them for Jobs with Participating Employers (PR News Wire): Motlow State, in collaboration with TalentGro, Google It and Jobs for the Future, is implementing a new apprenticeship that will combine the curriculum of Motlow State’s Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Cyber Defense, with the Google IT Support Professional Certificate.
- MMC Offering Online Electrician Apprenticeship Training and Testing Available (The
Morning Sun): Mid Michigan College is an approved provider of related technical instruction and offers 100% online electrician apprenticeship training and testing that meets State and National standards. - The Future of Apprenticeships (Inside Higher Ed): More people are talking about how to make apprenticeship remote after the COVID-19 pandemic. But experts worry remote experiences can’t provide what makes them most successful, even if they could broaden access.
- LBW Forms Apprenticeship Partnership with Wayne Farms (The Enterprise Ledger): Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (LBWCC), along with Enterprise State Community College, has partnered with Wayne Farms in Jack to provide ten industrial electronics/mechatronics apprenticeships.
- Apprenticeship Program Makes Big Difference in Recruitment (Construction Equipment Guide): The Alabama Department of Transportation provides funds for the apprenticeship program to train underrepresented and disadvantaged individuals (women, veterans and minorities) in heavy highway construction. Its goal is to expand the pool of qualified workers for enrollment into the program.
- San Diego Contractor Groups Team up to Help African American Workers (CBS8.com): The National Black Contractors Association (NBCA) and the San Diego chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) signed a memorandum agreement. The goal is collaborate with apprenticeship programs, local hiring, training programs, and business opportunities for apprentices and contractors from diverse communities so that more opportunities are available for black apprentices.
- Community Associations Institute (CAI) Partners with Arapahoe Community College (ACC) to Launch Nation’s First Apprenticeship in Community Association Management (Denver Post): Arapahoe Community College, in partnership with the Community Association Institute Rocky Mountain Chapter, Arapahoe/Douglas Works! and Skillful Colorado, is launching the nation’s first apprenticeship for the community association management profession.
